#28: Going home

  • by

This week I had the absolute pleasure to take a ride to visit my grandparents for the first time in about 20 months.

They live in a neighboring country, so the corona situation made it impossible to visit until now, so I eagerly took the opportunity.

I believe the two best ways to relax are a change of scenery and people you love. If you can combine the two, even better.

This trip was probably the most intense experience for me in my whole life on both fronts.

Firstly and most importantly, I finally got to spend some time with the family, which was much needed.
No amount of facetime can substitute a hug. Period.

But the novelty of the “new” environment is also not to be downplayed. Even tho I know the town like the back of my palm, so it’s really not new for me, after a year and a half spent in the close proximity of my room it was a very welcome change.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity, and I hope all of you will experience something similar soon.

As always, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you next time,

G
